Art Class

St. Anthony School is proud to be a host school for the elementary Children’s Fine Art Program which is a part of the Louisville Visual Art Association. The Children’s Fine Art Classes program has existed since 1925. “Its mission is to provide intensive, in-depth art experiences for talented and motivated elementary, middle, and high school art students.” There are two 10-week sessions during the school year. There are a smaller number of students invited to these classes. This gives us more time to study and discuss famous artists, develop our own ideas, and spend time concentrating on each project. The two-hour class block of time allows them to work at their own pace without rushing to finish. There is also individual and group sharing to help our projects be the best they can. There is a supply fee that is payable to LVAA, but scholarships are available. Visually talented students in grades 4, 5, and 6 have the opportunity to participate in these classes.
